AMBISAT understands Spatial Planning qualitatively as the pursuit of regional socio-economic development and improved quality of life, and quantitatively as a commitment to the responsible management of natural resources, the protection of the environment and the rational use of the land.

We take three basic requirements into account: the establishment of criteria on best suited usage, the definition of alternative land usage and the potential to undertake the chosen alternative.

All this in response to two questions: knowledge of actors and interests at stake and the definition of objectives in order to prioritise preferences.

AMBISAT performs the following activities in this field:
  • Preparation of local and regional development programmes
  • Strategic sectoral studies
  • Investment programmes
  • Feasibility reports on activities and agencies
  • Planning methods and reports related to overall planning and to urban, territorial and sectoral planning
